Balduin

biographie

Balduin was born in Bern, Switzerland in December 1978. He wrote his first song at the tender age of 8. As a teenager he formed his first band called "Fades".

He learned to play the swiss dulcimer "Hackbrett" and later on guitar. In 2001 he got a music contract with Crippled Dick Hot Wax! from Berlin and released his first international album "Creative Cookery".

In general it's hard to find the right words for the music of Balduin. Even journalists don't find often the right words. Some of them say: A creative cookery with a drop of alchemy and nostalgic mellotronic ingredients. A meltdown of film music & psychedelic audiophilatelies. Other describes the music as this: High quality laid back electronica with nice jazz flavours. Well mixed and high technical quality combined with some talented and tastefull artistry provides for a refreshing and comfortable listening experience. Elements of many different genres, ranging from jazz to drum'n'bass to electro to downtempo. (balduin.org)
