British producer Jack Latham, known as Jam City, recently contributed to Logic1000’s single “Jersey,” and he is preparing to release his own new album, My World, later this month. We’ve already shared the title track, which features Aidan, Bawo and Ox Eye. Yesterday, Jam City followed that release with “2am,” a fresh collaboration with the London-based singer-songwriter Gianna.
“2am” is a supremely pretty composition that evolves through a few distinct moods. It opens with a distant echo of a Euro-house motif — just voice and piano drifting in the ether. Then, on a couple of occasions, a thunderous breakbeat erupts and drags the track into the realm of cosmic trip-hop. A great song! Watch the video below.
