Stream The Alchemist’s Liquid Form EP Featuring Kool G Rap, 2 Chainz, Conway the Machine & Boldy James

June 20, 2026

For anyone younger than thirty, the Alchemist has been crafting intensely focused, heady rap instrumentals for longer than you’ve been alive. He stands as a singular institution, continuing to push remarkable work within his own distinctive lane. In the year prior, he paired with Armand Hammer for Mercy, his second full-length collaboration with the duo, and earlier this year he linked with Curren$y and Larry June on the Spiral Staircases EP. There’s even chatter about a potential Erykah Badu album somewhere down the line. Today, Uncle Al unveils a new EP that features four tracks, each with a different collaborator.

The Alchemist sometimes operates in this fashion, and his latest EP Liquid Form follows the same blueprint as past releases like 2024’s The Genuine Articulate. On Liquid Form, Alchemist trades one song with four distinct artists: Queens icon Kool G Rap, Atlanta mainstay 2 Chainz, and underground staples Conway The Machine and Boldy James. All of these veterans have a long-standing history with Alchemist; G Rap appeared on Mobb Deep’s Alchemist-produced “The Realest” back in 1999. In this new collection, all four beats crafted by Alchemist hit their marks, and each rapper stays perfectly within their own lane. Instrumental versions of all four tracks are also included. Listen below.

Speaking of Boldy James, the Detroit powerhouse continues to release music at a jaw-dropping pace. Today he drops Trapper’s Alley 3: Hell Or High Water, the latest LP he’s produced with Montreal’s Nicholas Craven, a frequent collaborator. By my count, this marks Boldy’s fourth project of 2026. The man must never sleep. Listen below.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
