Matty Healy performed alongside a The 1975 tribute act during his recent stag party.
The 1975 frontman, who is preparing to wed model and musician Gabbriette later this month, is said to have enlisted “the world’s first tribute band to The 1975”, The 9075, to perform at his Malibu celebration, per Rolling Stone UK.
Clips circulating online capture Matty singing and dancing on stage as The 9075 deliver a rendition of their 2016 hit The Sound. He sports a casual look in jeans and a black T-shirt and is barefoot.
During the performance, he calls for the tribute band’s lead singer to return, shouting, “Where is he? Come back!” The 9075’s frontman emerges from the animated crowd, returns to the stage and reclaims the microphone as Matty dances beside him, pointing, nodding and gesturing toward his impersonator.
In another clip, the 37-year-old can be seen crowd-surfing while his bandmate George Daniel—wearing a pink cowgirl hat—sings along to the tribute act’s version of their song Sex.
Matty began dating Gabbriette, whose real name is Gabriella Bechtel, in September 2023 and they announced their engagement in June 2024.
The British musician’s mother, TV personality Denise Welch, revealed in May that the wedding would take place in July.
According to Instagram gossip account DeuxMoi, the couple could be tying the knot later this week.
