Australian indie rock outfit Radio Free Alice from Melbourne crafts a sound that calls to mind the prime years of early-2000s blog-rock. Their texture is taut and loud, yet ultimately accessible—a post-punk palette with bold melodies delivered through a hungry, nasal drone. If you grew up with that era, the track is apt to sweep you straight back in time, delivering a distinctly satisfying nostalgia.
They’ve already turned heads with recent singles “Toyota Camry” and “Rule 31.” Now comes “Kick In The Shins,” another cut laid to tape with veteran producers Ewan Pearson and Peter Katis. It channels the spirit of Bloc Party at their peak, which, in our book, is no small compliment.
