The woman mauled by Chris Brown’s dog is pursuing full compensation through legal channels.
Maria Avila, the singer’s former housekeeper, is owed nearly $13 million (£9.8 million) for the vicious dog attack that occurred at his residence.
She is seeking access to the earnings Brown is currently generating on his tour with Usher, TMZ reports.
In court papers obtained by the outlet, Avila stated that Brown has thus far “made no effort to satisfy any portion of the judgment.” She is asking the court to grant her complete access to his financial records so she can seize what is owed to her.
Avila’s attorneys note that Brown is presently touring with Usher on The R&B Tour, and they want all tour payments, as well as any other entertainment-related projects or residuals, directed to Avila, arguing he does not appear willing to cooperate in paying off the judgment.
They are also requesting that Brown be ordered to appear in court for a financial examination.
A California jury found in Avila’s favor regarding the December 2020 incident. Avila gave moving testimony during the two-week trial, breaking down on the witness stand as she described the mauling at Brown’s Tarzana home in Los Angeles.
She said the attack left her with severe injuries to her arm and face, extensive scarring, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
“I will never be the same again,” she told jurors at the time.
