Channel Tres Unveils New Album Enigma POV

August 14, 2026

Channel Tres, a Compton native known for crafting funky club-pop, spent years releasing records and delivering standout live shows before he finally unveiled a full-length debut. That album, Head Rush, arrived in 2024 and boasted guests like Thundercat, Toro y Moi, and Ty Dolla $ign. This year Tres appeared on new tracks by Thundercat and Dahi, and dropped his own singles such as “Pop Pop,” “Black Techno Guy,” and the Crystal Water–sampling “Medicine.” And now, his sophomore album is here.

Channel Tres announced his new project Enigma POV on Instagram a couple of weeks ago, though I completely missed the notice. He co-produced much of the record with longtime collaborator Nick Sylvester, an old friend, and you’d think Nick would have told me it was coming out, but no. Not a single text, no email, nothing. So it’s not a surprise release, but it’s a surprise to me, and perhaps to you as well.

Enigma POV has no guest features, but it does include production from Pharrell (on “Curious”) and Take A Daytrip (on “Gangsta”). My pal Nick even co-wrote a song with Pharrell! Nineteen years ago, he and I were raving about Pharrell’s Gangsta Grillz mixtape In My Mind: The Prequel. Incredible. Pharrell and Channel Tres feel like a natural collaboration, too. Anyway, I’m currently giving Enigma POV its first listen and I’m having a great time. Hear it for yourself below.

Enigma POV is out now on Alta Music Group.
