Chances are you’re familiar with Bimbo, the sibling duo who recently inked a deal with the celebrated indie label Exploding In Sound and drew attention when they announced their debut album, The Bimbonacci Sequence. That title has earned praise from Stereogum readers (and probably more fans as well). Of course the excitement would be for nothing if the lead track, “Chewing Glass,” didn’t deliver, but it turned out to be a delightfully quirky anthem. They’re back now with another peculiar offering. This one is titled “Things Keep Getting Worse,” a piece about the way situations seem to deteriorate, and it climaxes with Gretchen McKenzie repeatedly shouting “THINGS JUST KEEP GETTING WORSE!” — which is wonderfully thrilling.
