Bret Michaels Postpones Tour Dates After Kidney Stone Surgery

August 23, 2026

Bret Michaels has cancelled all his upcoming performances after undergoing emergency surgery to address kidney stones.

A total of eight shows have been removed from the schedule, covering a string of North American festival appearances and other dates on Michaels’ Live and Amplified tour.

The decision follows an attempt to press on with a Georgia concert on Friday night, despite the health setback.

In a post on Saturday, Michaels Entertainment Group explained on Facebook that medical professionals and on-site responders determined immediately after the Georgia show that he still requires more rest and recovery from his recent procedures.

The group added that the musician will take the coming months off to heal and regain full strength.

According to the medical team’s statement, Bret Michaels will be taken off the road for the time being to focus on his recuperation.

Although he had hoped to push through the gig, the team stressed that a substantial rest and careful recovery period is needed, especially given the heat and humidity typical of summer and the potential impact on his blood sugar levels.

Michaels addressed fans in the comments, expressing that there are no words that can adequately convey how much he values the encouragement and messages he has received.

Earlier in January, a 40th-anniversary Poison tour was canceled amid reports that the singer had requested compensation amounting to six times what his bandmates would receive for the performances.
