Ziemba is making a bold return. The multidisciplinary artist unveils her eagerly awaited new album The Braid this fall, having already issued the expansive singles “The Perfect Rose” and “The Pleasure Seekers.” The latest track, “We Implode,” comes across as a sprightly, inspirational triumph.
“I crafted this song over the course of a decade,” René Kladzyk explains, and the sentiment is evident in the way the piece feels like she’s stepping back from her life to reflect on it: “All I know is the lie I carry in my love and I’m happy,” she sings with simple, moving clarity. Another moment that lands powerfully: “It’s funny and sad/ How big it all appeared/ The world remade in visions of a dream we shared/ And now there’s nothing there.” Beautiful. Below, watch the accompanying video directed by Laura Bartczak and Liz Charky.
The Braid is self-released 10/2.
