Kali Priya Flanagan, a rising songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Brooklyn, previously issued music under the moniker KALI. He performs with the emo outfit Holidays In United States and also crafts solo material as Superfan.
We had previously highlighted early Superfan tracks “Apeiron (Fantasy Football)” and “Picture Of Return.” Yesterday, Superfan announced plans to release his debut LP, My Piledriver Heart, later this autumn.
Much of My Piledriver Heart was captured live with cellist Omeed Almassi and producer Hudson Pollock, and the newly unveiled opener “In The Gold Room” arrives as a distinctive slice of idiosyncratic noise-folk. In addition to the studio version, there is a live video directed by Garrett Winston filmed inside the Agger Fish Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
