Megan Thee Stallion is aiming to build an acting career that mirrors the path taken by Queen Latifah.
The rapper known for Savage recently stepped onto Broadway earlier this year and now intends to pursue more acting work, looking to model her journey after Latifah, who launched in music before becoming a celebrated actress as well.
“I really want to broaden my artistry,” Megan shared on Michelle Obama’s IMO podcast. “Acting isn’t just something I dabble in; I want to dive into it seriously. I’m figuring out where I fit, what comes next, and how I move forward.”
Seeing Latifah as her blueprint, she added, “Queen Latifah is my girl, and I’m definitely a student of hers. It’s even become a friendship now, and I’m always grateful for the inspiration she provides. I’m following that same route—this is the path I’m modeling my career after.”
Latifah, born Dana Owens, has long managed the balance of a Grammy-winning music career with an Oscar-nominated acting career that has endured for decades.
Megan, now 31, already boasts a number of acting credits, including appearances on television series such as The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, P-Valley and Good Girls, along with roles in films like Mean Girls, Dicks: The Musical and Roommates.
Her Broadway debut came earlier this year when she portrayed Zigler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, and she is slated to appear in Adam Sandler’s next project.
