Last month, Elephant 6 greats The Olivia Tremor Control announced their first new album in 27 years, The Same Place. The quirky psych-pop outfit released “The Same Place” and “Garden Of Light” as early previews, and they have since returned with “Advice From The Oceans,” a breezy tribute to the sea.
“Advice From The Oceans,” as noted in a post on Elephant 6’s Facebook page, was among the first songs to come out of the group’s initial sessions in 2010 after their lengthy hiatus. It moves quickly as a dreamlike travel tune, threaded with violin, clarinet, and other instruments that fuse into a surreal swell of sound. Listen below.
The Same Place is scheduled for release on 10/23 through the Elephant 6 Recording Company.
