Throughout the season we’ve been sharing fresh tracks from gash, the Eau Claire indie deconstructionists who’ve won over a local icon in Justin Vernon (they performed at his reintroduced Eaux Claires festival) and have linked up with the esteemed Fire Talk imprint Angel Tapes. Up to this point, their upcoming record at least you know what you’re laughing at has produced the songs “good and bad” and “risking heaven.” Today brings one more advance cut, titled “data master.” The track lands as a hazy, left-field electronic piece with solid rock underpinnings, in that post-Spirit Of The Beehive vein, and by its close a quilt of guitar textures comes to the forefront.
