Adéla acknowledges that vilification is an inherent aspect of life in the public gaze, and she treats it as an expected facet of her role in the spotlight rather than a personal attack.
The 22-year-old Slovak participant did not secure a spot in KATSEYE after competing on the 2023 reality series Dream Academy.
Two members of the group — Sophia Laforteza and Manon Bannerman — have recently stepped back to prioritise their mental health.
Discussing the pressures that come with fame, she explained to W Magazine that being a public figure means you are something to be consumed by audiences; for women, public perception can swing from adoration to sharp critique from one day to the next.
She also noted that this is a consequence of the job; if she becomes the antagonist in someone’s story and fans vent to others online, it can feel like a release for them, effectively making her nearly everyone’s therapist and their case study.
Meanwhile, the Ain’t in LA singer, who recently delivered a standout performance at Reading and Leeds, revealed that arena-level shows are on her horizon and that she sees herself as a showgirl at heart.
KATSEYE kicked off their Wildworld tour on Tuesday (01.09.26) with both of their regular members absent.
Sophia addressed her absence in an Instagram Stories update, saying she longs to participate in the tour and perform for fans, but she must remind herself daily that health and mental wellbeing should always come first.
When she does appear for fans, she wants to bring the best version of herself. She has been undergoing treatment and is doing everything possible to stay healthy, engaged, and content.
You can’t pour from an empty cup; looking after yourself is essential, she stressed.
KATSEYE subsequently issued a statement on Instagram regarding Sophia’s schedule, explaining that she is prioritising her wellbeing and that the company remains fully committed to providing all the support and resources she needs.
In a note signed by HYBE and Geffen Records, it was confirmed that Sophia “will not be participating in the Wildworld Tour in Europe and the UK.”
They added that EYEKONS should understand that the health and long-term welfare of their artists remains the top priority, and they promised to share further updates as soon as they become available, while inviting fans to keep sending their love and support to Sophia and KATSEYE.
Sophia also praised her management company and bandmates for their steadfast support during her health struggles, expressing gratitude for the care she has received.
She continued: there has been nothing but love and support from the company, her fellow members, and everyone around her as she works toward recovery, and she cannot wait to return and share the stage with her sisters again. She believes they are set to deliver an extraordinary performance, noting that she has seen how hard they are pushing themselves and how much they are giving.
In closing, she thanked the fans for their ongoing support and understanding, saying she loves them all very much.
