Jay-Z marked Beyoncé’s birthday with a festive display of fireworks and a singalong as he kicked off his concert tour in London.
The 56-year-old rapper, who has been married to the superstar Beyoncé since 2008, paused his set to acknowledge her from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium stage as she celebrated turning 45 on Friday (09.04.26).
After Jay-Z paused briefly to pay tribute to Beyoncé, who was watching from a VIP area, a spectacular pyrotechnic show exploded around the arena.
Beyoncé—seated in a box with friends—appeared on the big screen as Jay-Z and the audience serenaded her with a rendition of Happy Birthday.
Wearing a relaxed hoodie, Beyoncé blew kisses to the crowd, waved to the fans, and could be seen mouthing the words “Oh my God.”
Meanwhile, Sir Idris Elba opened the night with his entrance, a cue that famously began Jay-Z’s 2007 American Gangster album.
Jay-Z then moved into Pray before launching into Bam, Beach Is Better, and On To The Next One.
DJ Khaled joined the stage for God Did, while Giggs delivered his breakout track Talking The Hardest.
The Fugees’ Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean surprised the audience with timeless favorites Ready Or Not, Killing Me Softly and Fu-Gee-La.
Jay-Z followed with a string of other iconic songs, including Jigga What, Jigga Who, Run This Town, Hard Knock Life, and more. He brought the night to a close with Numb/Encore.
A-list attendees—among them Sir David Beckham, Cynthia Erivo, Michael B. Jordan, Jordan Dunn, Olivia Dean, Rick Rubin, Thomas Tuchel, Dave, Viddal Riley, AJ Odudu and Kano—were spotted at the sold‑out show, which marked three decades since the release of his landmark debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
