Hayden McGarvey, formerly associated with Bleary Eyed, and Mikaela Oppenheimer, previously part of Hello Mary, revealed their new project Trusselina back in July with two standout tracks, “Gastro” and “Trusselina Archimboldi.” The songs placed the Philadelphia duo alongside fellow Bard-affiliates ear, riding a growing wave of glitchy, folk-tinged indie-electronic acts with a cute, twee sensibility. Today, they return with additional music and news about their debut EP.
The decidedly quirky title The Point’s A Truss, My Trusselina is slated to arrive in the coming weeks. It compiles Trusselina’s summer singles along with “The Club,” which lands today. The electro-acoustic number slowly builds with a shimmering quality, while pitch-shifted vocals amplify the dreamlike effect. “The lyrics are about being sneaky and feeling guilty,” McGarvey explains in a press release.
The vocal hook from this track is already lodged in my head. Listen below.
