Although Anderson .Paak and Cordae aren’t truly stepbrothers, despite what the earlier cover art might hint at, the two artists share an extensive history of collaboration that traces back to when Cordae performed under the YBN Cordae name. That enduring partnership is set to be formalized with their forthcoming co-headlining project, Heavy Is The Crown, slated for release next month. The duo is promoting it with the track “A Good Day,” a warm and lively traditionalist hip-hop song built around a sample from Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day.” The music video, directed by veteran filmmaker Dave Meyers, serves as a Friday homage and features Jennifer Freeman.
