Hemlocke Springs began the year by releasing her first full-length studio album, The Apple Tree Under the Sea, which we crowned Album Of The Week. Now the alt-pop performer is set to tour with MUNA, and to mark the moment she releases a fresh track titled gloria!
Regarding the sprightly anthem, Isimeme “Naomi” Udu offers a quirky perspective: “gloria! Keep going! There are going to be regular shitstorms in life — personally and globally — almost every day, so you have to rise, grab your sword and GO. You’ve done this before. Things are hard and you will fall down, but the strength is in getting back up and moving forward every time.”
Sometimes the most effective motivation is a catchy, colorful tune, and “gloria!” certainly fits that description. The track arrives with a highly entertaining music video directed by Jackie! Zhou in the Mojave desert; dive in below.
