Philly-based post-metal outfit Bruise Bath unveiled a self-titled record earlier this year, adding to a catalog that already includes an eponymous LP of their own. They’re far from finished, and today they return with a rugged, bass-forward protest anthem titled “Non-Consensual Intervention.” The track opens with a sampled spoken-word fragment contemplating whether the United States might someday be invaded so we can know what it feels like, then dives into a brutal, riff-driven churn on that same notion. As it unfolds, the band clears the lane for harrowing guttural wails — “How am I supposed to live?!” — before the discordant lo-fi horrors resume.
