Javier Bardem has publicly voiced support for a campaign aimed at removing Pink from UNICEF’s ambassador roster.
The No Country for Old Men star reposted several messages to his Instagram Stories on Monday, urging followers to back a Change.org petition calling for Pink’s dismissal from the ambassadorial post.
The pop icon faced heavy backlash after speaking out against Macklemore’s “Free Palestine” remark during Ed Sheeran’s Loop tour.
She circulated a post from the @Stop_AntiSemitism page, which argued that Jewish fans had purchased tickets to hear Ed Sheeran perform in New Jersey, not to be confronted by Macklemore’s anti-Israel messaging. The post claimed Macklemore walked onstage wearing a keffiyeh, shouted “Free Palestine,” accused Israel of a fabricated genocide, and turned a mainstream event into a political crisis for the Jewish state.
As critics weighed in on the So What singer, she shared memes bearing captions such as, “Being liked by everyone is a clown’s job.”
The Change.org petition argues that Pink’s recent statements are not only unfortunate but also incompatible with the responsibilities of a UNICEF Ambassador, a role designed to promote peace, mutual understanding, and humanitarian values beyond personal views.
“UNICEF’s mission is to safeguard the rights and dignity of all children, regardless of political leanings or where they live. We depend on ambassadors to embody these principles, fostering inclusive dialogue and providing meaningful support.”
The petition calls on UNICEF to take firm action and remove Pink from her ambassadorial duties.
As of publication, the petition has already collected more than 162,000 signatures.
