The Heat Latin Music Awards has announced its 2026 slate of nominees, with Karol G at the forefront of the field.
She amassed ten nominations, including Best Female Artist, Best Urban Artist, Album of the Year for Tropicoqueta, and Best Viral Song for Bby Wow, among others.
Close behind her is Bad Bunny, who collects nine nominations, while Carlos Rivera and Shakira each tally seven nods.
In the Best Male Artist category, 14 artists compete, featuring Bad Bunny, Feid, Carlos Rivera, Maluma and J Balvin.
The Best Female Artist lineup also consists of 14 performers, among them Karol G, Shakira, Rosalía and Anitta.
The Heat Latin Music Awards—formerly known as Premios Heat—originated in the Dominican Republic in 2015 and continued there until 2024. Since then, the ceremony has expanded beyond the DR. In 2025 it took place in Medellín, Colombia, and this year it moves to Mexico for the first time, taking place at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Centre in Jalisco.
“Jalisco is not merely offering a venue; it gives us a home and a gathering place to come together around music once again,” said Diana Montes, the organization’s general director, in a statement.
“We arrive with a decade of Latin American history behind us, and here we have found the hands capable of bringing it to life.”
Colombian star Beéle was the big winner at the 2025 Heat Latin Music Awards.
The trophies for this edition are set to be handed out on November 5 in a ceremony hosted by Dominican actor Caroline Aquino and Mexican television personality Karime Pindte.
