Miley Cyrus has celebrated her latest release Bass Persuades reaching the number-one spot on the music charts.
The Flowers artist’s tenth studio album has ascended to the top of the Billboard 200, surpassing Ella Langley’s Dandelion and Riley Green’s That’s Just Me.
Miley’s previous chart-topping album on the Billboard 200 was 2013’s Bangerz.
In the wake of the news, the pop icon posted on Instagram to commemorate the milestone.
“Having Bass Persuades reach #1 goes beyond a simple victory,” she wrote. “This journey has delivered some of my best moments. Everyone involved helped make it possible and, above all, enjoyable and memorable.”
Centring on the milestone, Miley also uploaded two photos of herself posing with a bouquet arranged as the numeral one, sent to her by music executives at Atlantic Records.
“Thank you Atlantic, my team, and everyone who stands beside me with conviction. I love you,” the 33-year-old added, before thanking her supporters. “To the fans you keep my world turning. Creating music for you brings boundless joy to my life. Forever.”
Miley released Bass Persuades, which includes the title track and the lead single Let’s Get Married, on 18 September.
Looking back on the project, the former child star explained that she drew inspiration from the power of music.
“Music seizes us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes sway to it, vent it and carry on. It is potent, vulnerable, tender and mighty,” she wrote on social media at the time. “A whole heart, heartbreak, every facet of life in between. That’s the meaning I attach to the title.”
