LCD Soundsystem Marks 100th NYC Residency Show; Al Doyle Unveils Debut Solo Album, Hollywood Saviour

October 1, 2026

LCD Soundsystem is back with another NYC residency, as James Murphy and the crew unveil a holiday-time run of performances in New York City, set across Queens’ Knockdown Center and Brooklyn Steel. The streak will also celebrate the band’s 100th residency show in the city.

The group — who are slated to open for Harry Styles next year — have been staging residency gigs in the Big Apple since 2017, featuring guest DJs, surprises, and afterparties. This year’s edition comprises 12 performances spread over three weekends: the opening stretch from November 19–22 at the Knockdown Center in Queens, a middle run from November 30 to December 3 at Brooklyn Steel, and a closing set of four shows from December 10–13 back at the Knockdown Center. The November 30 show will be the 100th residency appearance, and LCD will donate all proceeds from ticket sales for that evening to a charity to be announced.

Ticketing will kick off with an American Express pre-sale running from Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. local time to Thursday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m. local time, followed by an artist pre-sale on Wednesday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Public on-sale begins Friday, October 9 at 10:00 a.m. local time via AXS.

Meanwhile, guitarist and keyboardist Al Doyle announced his debut solo album, Hollywood Saviour, due this fall on DFA. The lead single, “Hard Times In America,” is already out, a brisk tune that lights up a bleak reality. Here’s Doyle’s reflection on the project:

The idea of an Al Doyle solo record isn’t essential for anyone. It wouldn’t be the top priority, perhaps even not in the top quarter, but if I limited myself to what the world “needs,” I wouldn’t get much done; that isn’t my forte. I’m more of a mic-choosing, volume-adjusting, cocktail-sipping kind of guy. Still, if you head into the studio every day and tinker with things long enough, you’ll eventually craft an album, and that’s basically what happened here.

A solo record feels like an odd move for a man in his mid-40s. It took me that long to gather the nerve to ignore what others might think about me making such a narcissistic step. I did want people to enjoy listening to it, though. It’s not unfamiliar music; there are plenty of guitar, bass, and drum arrangements, along with a heavy dose of synths and drum machines. Pretty much exactly the sort of thing you’d expect from me given the bands I’ve been in. In a sense, the record serves as a thank-you to all the talented musicians I’ve drawn from over the years; it’s the result of many hands. Nothing happens in a vacuum that doesn’t suck.
