Jack White condemns Trump as the ‘worst American’ after Iran remarks on U.S. cities

Jack White has condemned U.S. President Donald Trump, branding him the worst American in history in response to the president’s remarks about Iran.

While addressing the conflict at a rally in Nebraska on Monday, Trump argued that increases in prices tied to the war would be tolerable.

“It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego,” the 80-year-old stated, and portions of the crowd applauded at the mention of the California cities.

However, on Tuesday White took to Instagram to voice his concern over Trump’s comments.

“Hey republicans and conservatives that live in L.A. and San Diego; how do you feel about your Fuhrer (sic) recommending that the cities you live in get attacked? Click the video I reposted and watch for yourself,” he began. “Listen to the cult members CLAPPING and cheering for this. Let me take a wild guess: it was a joke, owning the libs, insert cult rhetoric here, etc.”

The White Stripes frontman went on to critique Trump supporters.

“Imagine any other President or elected official in history saying this. False flag incoming anyone? Just wait till next month when he begins enacting illegal measures to suppress democracy at the polls to prevail when the right loses badly in the midterm elections. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The Worst American of All Time,” the 51-year-old added.

Representatives for the White House have not directly responded to White’s comments.

Although Steven Cheung, director of communications at the White House, later issued a statement via X in which he insisted Trump meant that major U.S. cities would have been threatened by Iran if the war had not been launched in February.

“The media freakout over President Trump’s comments is not rooted in reality. He was clearly stating U.S. cities would have been threatened if a nuclear Iran hadn’t been stopped,” he wrote. “America is safer because of the President. Iran has no nuclear, no navy, no air force, and no money.”
