‘Ghost’s Host’—that is a title I would never willingly pronounce aloud. It would spell trouble in literal syllables. Those words would scramble and stumble when they exit my lips. Yet the New Jersey quartet Classic Traffic, known for bold power-pop and brassy tempos, embrace that unpronounceable name on their latest single, a bittersweet midtempo number whose chorus bursts in like a raised fist, charged with adrenaline.
Classic Traffic’s upcoming album Real Music (a strikingly apt title) is set to drop tomorrow, and their previous single “My Rage” earned a spot on our list of the week’s best tracks. ‘Ghost’s Host’ acts as a confident nudge to dive into the full record once it arrives. Listen below.
Real Music is out 10/9 on Same View.
