To ascend to the summit, Blossoms prevailed over legendary competition. The Beatles couldn’t derail their charge, with the Fab Four coming in at Number 2 with Rubber Soul, the iconic album first released in 1965 more than six decades ago.
Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, the group shared their gratitude: “We’re over the moon. It’s amazing to still be making music a decade after our first record, and to keep reaching Number 1 isn’t something we take for granted. Thanks to everyone who bought it, streamed it, or told a mate about it. See you on tour.”
Beyond topping the main chart, Songs From The Wedding Cake also sits at Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart. At the same time, The Beatles’ Rubber Soul dominates the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, shifting more copies on vinyl than any other title in the past seven days.
Elsewhere on the chart, former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr celebrates his second solo Top 5 release as The Age Of Everything enters at Number 5, continuing the momentum from 2022’s Fever Dreams Pts 1-4. South London seven-piece Fat Dog achieve their highest-charting album yet with Cancel Me (I’m Tired), debuting at Number 13, while Drake’s HABIBTI re-enters the Top 20 at Number 20 following the expanded edition release. The Top 5 is completed by Olivia Rodrigo at Number 3 with You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In, and Michael Jackson’s The Essential remains at Number 4.
