Chase and Status, the legendary electronic duo, are on course to claim this week’s top new entry on the Official Singles Chart with their high-octane new single “Carnage,” featuring London rapper Little Simz. Early streaming and sales data from the Official Chart First Look predict the track will debut at Number 28, marking the duo’s 14th Top 40 hit.
The explosive collaboration lands after the release of Chase and Status’s seventh studio album, Generic Everything. For this project, Saul Milton and Will Kennard recruited a host of prominent UK talents to contribute to their distinctive drum-and-bass sound.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift continues to dominate the summit, as “Patient Zero” looks set for a third consecutive week at Number 1. Yet, stiff competition lingers from those behind. Jamie Miller’s breakout hit “Babydoll” rises one place to Number 2, while Ashe’s “Stop The Wedding!” advances to Number 3, shaping a dynamic top three ahead of Friday’s final countdown.
Further down the chart, British rap staple Digga is eyeing another potential entry with “Girls All Around The World,” currently hovering at Number 39. Club anthems are also gaining considerable momentum this week. “Good Girl” by Cloonee, Prospa, and Tristan Henry is aiming to breach the Top 20 for the first time, leaping nine spots to Number 16. Additionally, German DJ Kolter’s “Hey Everybody (Back In The Dance)” climbs to Number 20, while DJ Goja, Jason Derulo, and Melody’s “Mi Chico” moves up to Number 26.
The top ten is completed by Sienna Spiro’s “Great Expectation” at Number 4, Stella Lefty’s “Boston” at Number 5, and Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” at Number 6. Adela’s “Nicole Kidman” remains at Number 7, followed by Olivia Rodrigo’s “The Cure” at Number 8, Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In” at Number 9, and Olivia Dean’s solo hit “Man I Need” climbing into the Top 10 at Number 10.
