Barry Manilow’s comeback delayed by new health issues

October 12, 2026

Barry Manilow called off his most recent Las Vegas appearance after ending his Friday night performance prematurely.

This withdrawal follows only two days after the star’s eagerly awaited return to the Vegas residency on Thursday, following a six-week break.

Manilow has been undergoing treatment for the lung cancer he disclosed in December.

“After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows,” a representative for the musician told Variety.

He did take the stage on Friday, but the set reportedly concluded after only a few songs, as he told the audience, “Talk amongst yourselves,” before stepping away. Just one night earlier, he had proclaimed from the stage, “I’m back!”

The Vegas residency was slated to begin in February but was repeatedly delayed as he battled cancer, and facing previous bouts of bronchitis.

Back in May, the Copacabana singer wrote on social media: “Good news! I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said I’m making great progress and look great! Well, of course I do! Thank you very much! All the training and exercising I’ve put in is paying off. He did say, however, that I’m not quite ready for Vegas. That means I won’t be able to return for our May shows.”

As of today, the singer has not issued any comment regarding the latest cancellations.
