Ebbb: Public Release

October 12, 2026

There’s something thrilling about discovering a track that refuses to fit into any well-known genre box, forcing me to coin fresh terms to describe it. For example, take the London-based trio Ebbb and their new single “Public”—would labeling it as “dreamy chamber-rage” even carry meaning? Will that phrase catch on, or do I need to conjure some silly nonce word like blinggaze or something along those lines?

Having established themselves on London’s indie circuit, Ebbb released their debut LP Shallow Hits over the summer. Now they follow that record with “Public,” a peculiar and resolutely standalone single that places Will Rowland’s ethereal, mourning-choir vocals atop a creaking, glimmering electronic production that nods to Bladee and Beach House at once. The band says, “It’s about confronting fears, moving forward, and not losing sight of who you are.” It’s good stuff! Listen below.

Shallow Hits and “Public” are both out now on Ninja Tune.
