Chris Brown’s housekeeper seeks a court-issued arrest warrant

October 13, 2026

Maria Avila, who formerly served as Chris Brown’s housekeeper, is pressing for the singer’s arrest so she can collect the damages awarded to her.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Avila, who was awarded millions in a 2020 dog-attack verdict at Brown’s Los Angeles residence, has asked a judge to issue an arrest warrant for Brown on the grounds that he has failed to provide dates for her lawyers to scrutinize his financial records.

To date, the judgment of $9.5 million (about £7.2 million) remains uncollected.

The incident occurred when a large dog mauled Avila outside the It Depends singer’s home as she was taking out the garbage.

Two weeks ago, she agreed to a reduced payout on the case after the presiding judge described the jury’s initial award of $12.9 million (£9.8 million) as “excessive” and proposed the revised sum.

“Maria Avila hereby unequivocally accepts and consents to the reduction of her damages award,” Avila’s lawyer wrote in a notice of acceptance.

Both Brown and Avila testified at the original trial in Los Angeles in June. Avila broke down in tears as she recounted for jurors the December 12, 2020 mauling at the It Depends singer’s Tarzana residence.

She said the attack left her with severe injuries to her arm and face, extensive scarring, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

“I will never be the same again,” she shared.
