Spiral XP: Electric Faith

October 13, 2026

The hazy, dreamlike Seattle outfit Spiral XP is poised to release its latest EP Blue Earth this Friday, and its title track was among our favorites during the week it dropped. Today the band shares the softly blurred new song “Faith Electric,” another compelling reason to take notice. Across a colossal bass-and-drum backbone, the group layers organ sustains, sheets of guitar noise, and echo-drenched ba-ba-ba harmonies, conjuring memories of late-’90s Yo La Tengo. Here’s how the band describes the track:

Although this song largely sticks to the same cadence and riff through most of its runtime, it is also arranged as a two-part piece. The first half has Max’s voice skirting themes of cult devotion and blind faith, while the second half finds Lena guiding us toward a more ethereal realm of dreams and half-sleep. The clash between Max’s harsher, more piercing delivery and Lena’s warm, lush singing aligns with the song’s aim, conceived as a fusion of Th’ Faith Healers’ gritty noise rock with Bowery Electric’s dreamy trip-hop.

Blue Earth lands on 10/16 via Danger Collective.
