Raye blasts scalpers for exploiting her fans

Raye has harshly criticized ticket touts for orchestrating thousands of fraudulent registrations for her upcoming concert.

The “Where Is My Husband!” singer took to social media on Tuesday to vent about scalpers who used AI-powered bots to sign up for the pre-sale tied to her single performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 23 October.

With only 5,000 tickets on offer, she admitted concern that genuine fans might be excluded or forced to pay inflated prices.

“We received about 1.8 million sign-ups for 5,000 seats for This Symphony May Contain Hope,” she posted on Instagram.

“Regrettably our sign-up process was overwhelmed by scalpers, using AI bots to generate hundreds of thousands of fake registrations.

“This is a new reality we are living in now; I have never seen bots operate on this scale. It matters greatly to me that fans can buy tickets at the face value,” she continued.

This Symphony May Contain Hope will feature songs from Raye’s chart-topping second album, titled This Music May Contain Hope.

In a bid to deter ticket touts from “exploiting” music fans and profiting from selling concert seats at inflated rates, Raye and her team devised a plan.

“Rather than risk opening a presale that scalpers could exploit, we chose what we believed to be the safest approach for this particular show: a manual review of the sign-up list to identify a shortlist of people we consider real fans,” the star explained.

Those selected will have already received a presale link and code via email today.

Remaining tickets will be available on general sale.

Raye admitted the process had left her fearing that real fans wouldn’t pay a fair price to watch their favourite artists perform live.

“I’m not sure what the future holds for ticketing, but this experience has truly opened my eyes. My team and I will think very hard about what we do next. Lots of love, Raye,” she concluded.
