John Errol’s forthcoming LP Damage is slated to arrive at month’s end. The Los Angeles–based musician has already captivated listeners with “Float” and “Shifting Sands,” the latter earning a place on our weekly top five tracks. His latest single, “Like It Like That,” emerges as his strongest offering to date.
“This one is for my fellow weak, dependent men,” Errol explains about the track. “I’m all or nothing. I’ll eat all the candy until I’m sick, and there’s nothing healthy or measured in how I love either. I’ll skip work, drain my bank account, kiss family and friends goodbye, and erase myself entirely in the name of someone else. And I really do like it like that.”
“Like It Like That” is a smoky earworm that he says is “suitable for limerence, crushes, self-annihilation etc.” Sonically, it captures the feeling of a sunlit day that’s both lazy and intense, hazy yet bright. Errol has also just revealed a batch of shows opening for Nirosta Steel in California later this year. Check those out below along with “Like It Like That.”
