Chase & Status Perform Turnstile Cover on BBC Live Lounge

October 17, 2026

Last August, Turnstile rolled out Never Enough: Versions, a notably stylish assortment of remixes and reinterpretations of songs from their forthcoming 2025 album. On Versions, a lineup of dance-focused producers — Floating Points, Four Tet, Kettama, Rod Lee — offered their own takes on Turnstile tracks. Yet that wasn’t enough. It’s never enough. Perhaps Chase & Status, the British drum ‘n’ bass duo, felt left out, given they had just tackled Turnstile’s “Never Enough” in the BBC Live Lounge.

In the UK, Chase & Status carry serious clout. Their career spans more than two decades, and they’ve racked up seven top-10 hits at home. Their 2024 collaboration with Stormzy, “Backbone,” reached #1 domestically. Last month, the duo were featured, alongside Madness frontman Suggs, on Skepta’s single “Innocent Smile.” For the Live Lounge, Chase & Status brought their live band — guitarist, vocalist, multiple backing singers — to perform an exuberant dance-pop version of “Never Enough,” substituting jungle breakbeats for the climactic moments instead of the usual guitar ferocity. I think it sounds pretty cool. Check it out below.

Turnstile themselves are no strangers to the BBC Live Lounge. Earlier this year, they did their own session there as well, and they covered “Burning Fight,” a track from Zach De La Rocha’s pre-Rage Against The Machine hardcore outfit Inside Out. Turnstile’s free Washington Monument show is eight days away, and I am amped.
