Blondie Unveils Final Studio Album “High Noon” With Clem Burke; Listen to “Spectral Eyes” Featuring Johnny Marr

October 18, 2026

Blondie, icons of the new wave, issued their eponymous debut back in December 1976, at a moment when punk rock was only beginning to register with a wider audience. More than half a century on, they’re returning with a fresh LP titled High Noon, slated for release early next year. It will mark the last recording with longtime drummer Clem Burke, who died of cancer last year at 70.

Not long after Burke’s passing, bandmate Chris Stein revealed on social media that Blondie were wrapping up a new album and aiming for a late-2025 release. When a fan asked whether Burke contributed, Stein said that Burke performed on the entire record. The album didn’t arrive as planned, and it’s now scheduled for a February 2027 release, so better late than never.

Blondie has long collaborated with outside artists, and High Noon adds a few more guests, including Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols, Zach Condon of Beirut, and Lucius members Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig. The LP was cut with renowned indie rock producer John Congleton, who also worked on Blondie’s previous album, 2017’s Pollinator. The opening track and lead single, Spectral Eyes, fires a gleaming groove anchored by Debbie Harry’s cool, world-weary voice and shimmering guitars from Johnny Marr, who also wrote the song. (As with Congleton, Marr previously collaborated with Blondie on Pollinator.)
