Post Malone has apologised to fans for the delay in releasing his next album.
The Circles hitmaker has been immersed in crafting a follow-up to 2024’s F-1 Trillion, a project described as an immense undertaking.
In the prior year, he asserted that he had crafted roughly 35 songs for an anticipated country record, yet this summer he offered fans a preview of a fresh track that nods to his hip-hop origins.
Recently, he posted a photo of himself in front of a whiteboard that maps out the project, captioning it with a message that effectively communicates: Season’s greetings, nerds… I’m nearly finished with this thing. Sorry for the long wait… I can’t wait to share this music with all of you. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created… a boatload of songs are on the way! I promise the next run won’t take three years… I love you all very much. And remember, you kick ass!!!!! (sic)
The color-coded board reveals that some tracks are farther along than others.
In a Billboard interview ahead of his Coachella set in 2025, he discussed collaborating with Ernest, Hardy and Thomas Rhett in Nashville, describing the process as enjoyable: “We just have fun. We chat and make songs together, and I’m pretty excited for the new record already.”
Regarding the stack of songs he’s recorded, he remarked that it comes down to deciding which pieces lean toward rock and which lean toward something else.
He told the publication that, although he often dislikes listening to his own music, hearing the band perform it excites him greatly.
Talking about how he blends his diverse influences—also including rock and pop—into a single, cohesive show, he explained: “You put a twist on the instrumentation and the musicianship.”
“We’ve got Lillie [Mae] on fiddle and Cheese [Chandler Walters] on steel guitar, weaving those elements into the old songs and then transitioning into the new material… that’s always been my thing, because it’s all just music.”
He even postponed his Big A** Tour with Jelly Roll by a few weeks to devote more time to finishing the LP.
There’s still no official release date for the record, though it is believed to be titled The Eternal Buzz.
