Sahara Ray, an Australian fashion model, has died at the age of 34.
Her family confirmed the news to TMZ.
“She passed away last night, with family by her side at the hospital. She was much loved,” they told the outlet.
The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Ray was the daughter of prominent big-wave surfer Tony Ray and spent her upbringing divided among Australia, California, and Hawaii.
She rose to prominence as a model and drew notable attention in 2016 due to her romance with pop icon Justin Bieber, with photographs showing them vacationing together and skinny-dipping in Hawaii.
In January, Ray welcomed her first child, a daughter named Snow.
“Baby Snow hallelujah,” she captioned one post, paired with Bieber’s 2025 track Everything Hallelujah.
Her final post consisted of a series of endearing photos of her daughter, shared in July.
“My whole heart… baby Snow,” she wrote.
The model was also associated with Australian singer Cody Simpson and, more recently, American musician Mod Sun.
In 2024, Ray spoke publicly about being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare autoimmune condition, triggered by trauma after she was struck by a car.
“I’m so overwhelmed by everything that’s been happening to me,” she posted at the time.
“So basically right now, I’m paralysed from the tops of my upper thighs down to my feet. I can’t walk at all.”
