Ejae, the lead star of KPop Demon Hunters, has wed her longtime partner, Samuel Kim.
In a statement issued on Monday, Vogue editors confirmed that the singer-songwriter, who provided the singing voice for Rumi in the popular animated film, tied the knot with former music producer Samuel Kim in a ceremony held in Seoul, South Korea on 17 October.
The venue carried meaningful significance for them, as it is where the bride’s grandparents once lived.
“As a girl, I spent a lot of time in that house,” she told Vogue. “I wandered the garden and walked with my grandfather in the hills behind the property… Incorporating traditional Korean wedding rituals into our weekend felt incredibly special for us and our family.”
The Golden hitmaker, born Kim Eun-jae, wore a bespoke Danielle Frankel gown for the ceremony and later changed into another Zac Posen dress for the reception.
“I’ve long admired Danielle’s contemporary yet slightly unconventional take on a classic bridal silhouette, and I knew I wanted to reach out to see if she’d be open to collaborating on a custom gown,” the 34-year-old explained. “From our first meeting, Danielle grasped my vision instantly: ethereal, modern, chic, and timeless with a twist.”
In another section of the interview, Ejae shared how happy she was about the wedding, noting that attendees included her Demon Hunters co-stars Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna.
“There was so much happiness all around,” she exclaimed. “The ceremony was stunning, heartfelt, and a lot of fun.”
Ejae and Sam became engaged toward the end of 2023. They first crossed paths during a songwriting session back in 2017.
