Bicep Reveals New Album, Listen to Three Tracks

October 21, 2026

In the preceding month, Bicep issued a trio of singles—”Air,” “Lemonder,” and “Viper.” Today, the UK-based electronic duo unveils their forthcoming LP, SLUG, continuing the CHROMA-era arc. They now present three additional cuts: “Gas,” “Ultra,” and “Equarium.”

The concept behind the title SLUG draws on the contrast between terrestrial slugs and their ocean-dwelling counterparts. “It serves as a powerful metaphor: you think you understand something at first glance, yet a much larger world exists beyond that first impression,” the duo explains. The album is loaded with collaborators, and the same goes for these new tracks. “Gas” includes Lauren Duffus and SOARR; “Ultra” features Eartheater and Saskia; and “Equarium” features Kehina.

The new tracks are accompanied by a three-part short film created by director Alex Takács. Regarding the project, Takács notes:

A while back I read a piece about a highly valuable racing pigeon that was stolen in Brussels. It pulled me into the obsessive realm of pigeon breeding, where pedigrees matter. The technology to guide pigeons in flight is also real. There’s a duality and a stark beauty in all that, and it felt fitting for these singles.

Bicep add:

With the music videos, we aimed to push the studio concepts into other media. The films let us expand those ideas beyond the songs themselves. Free parties, pigeon enthusiasts, demolition derbies — they’re very different worlds, yet all niche communities existing outside the mainstream, each with its own mix of beauty, darkness and chaos. Shining a light on those scenes feels closely tied to SLUG.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
