Natalie Bergman Unveils New EP: I Killed a North American Songbird — Listen to White Oak

October 22, 2026

Natalie Bergman, best known for her work with Wild Belle, has been forging a solo path through the 2020s. Her recent album for Third Man Records, My Home Is Not In This World, released last year, delivered a wonderfully satisfying fusion of retro pop, soul, and folk textures. That momentum bodes well for I Killed A North American Songbird, the new EP she unveiled today—because the title alone is enough to spark curiosity.

The five-track collection is slated to arrive in a few weeks. Bergman offered a taste today with a video for “White Oak,” the opener. Produced by Ben Lumsdaine, the track is a woozy, slightly off-kilter soul ballad, with vintage sounds remolded through distinctly modern production. “Alone in the wilderness/ You were born to make beautiful things,” Bergman croons. “We laid his body in the ground/ You played the melody on baritone.”

Andreas Ekelund directed the “White Oak” video, which features dancers Staz Lindes, Sandi Denton, and June Tate. Watch below.

TRACKLIST:
01 “White Oak”
02 “Indigo Bunting”
03 “Disappearing”
04 “The Way That You Love Me”
05 “Peregrine Falcon”

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
