Westside Gunn Unveils Heelmatic Album, Listen to Zilla

October 23, 2026

Westside Gunn has, at last, conceived the ideal album title. No notes. Magnificent. The only question left is why it took so long. If you’re an East Coast boom-bap revivalist with a pro wrestling fixation, you simply must have an album named Heelmatic, or else you’re leaving money on the table. Westside Gunn, once the Griselda mastermind, is no longer leaving money on the table. Heelmatic is slated for release next month.

Westside Gunn’s most recent full-length was 2025’s Heels Have Eyes 2. This year, he has appeared on tracks by A$AP Rocky and on the Erykah Badu–Alchemist collaboration. Heelmatic marks his first project for Mass Appeal. If there are any guests, the press release doesn’t list them. But we do have a Heelmatic tracklist, which reveals some striking song titles, such as “Blowdysseus” and “Martin 4sese.” There’s also a track named “The Bastard Pac,” likely a nod to the legendary wrestler who died suddenly last month.

Denny La Flare produced the jittery, off-kilter beat for the lead single “Zilla,” and it sounds incredibly sharp, even if Westside Gunn’s ad-libs remain as irritating as ever. He proclaims, “drive-by shoot your whole block up out the Waymo” and adds, “Getting Just Don Moët bottles by the caseload, chasing Jeff Bezos.” I know the latter line signals wealth, but I prefer to imagine Gunn literally sprinting after Bezos, perhaps along a sidewalk, maybe waving a rolling pin. In the Daily Gem-directed video, Westside Gunn rides a camel to the Pyramids and looks impossibly slick. Check it out below.
