The emerging London outfit Alphabet crafts a polished yet moody post-punk sound that calls to mind some of the era’s most acclaimed acts. They initially drew attention with their track “Sense” earlier this year, and now they return with “Into The Blur,” a brooding, restless new cut that oddly evokes both Interpol and Love Is All—two bands sharing little besides existing within the same period.
Guitarist Tom Sullivan handled the production and mixing on “Into The Blur,” while vocalist/bassist Lena Pishofer contributed the artwork. In a press release, Pishofer explains, “‘Into The Blur’ captures a snapshot from my early twenties—a time marked by unhappiness but also a surge of creative energy. It speaks to aging and the realization that you may never feel quite the same again. I don’t necessarily yearn to return to how it was, but I miss the freedom and the hazy sense of not knowing where life was headed. It’s about wanting to experience that moment once more.’ Check it out below.
