Esmerelda Road: Here, Honey

October 31, 2026

Esmeralda Road, a Belfast-based outfit, began life under the moniker Moonboot, a name that later sparked controversy when a streetwear label with the same title stirred up attention. In 2023, they claimed Single Of The Year at the NI Music Prize for their jazzy debut track “To U.” Although an album hasn’t materialized yet, today they release a haunting new ballad titled “Here Honey.”

“Here Honey” is a song conceived as a response to the constant stream of distractions we’re handed every day and the way they chip away at the connections between us, the trio says. While their past material has woven touches of jazz and soul into the mix, “Here Honey” leans into pure, emotional pop-rock. Watch the music video directed by Jay Whylie below.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
