Harry Styles infused the closing night of his New York City residency at Madison Square Garden with extra star power.
On stage he welcomed Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, the contemporary basketball standout.
The Knicks have made MSG their home court since 1968, where they play their home games.
Saturday night marked the 30th performance of Styles’ Together, Together residency, and Brunson joined him to present the singer with a commemorative banner.
Brunson, greeted by a raucous “MVP” chant from the audience, wore a hat emblazoned with the phrase ‘Techno is my boyfriend’.
“Can you just make a note, we’re almost as tall as each other,” Styles teased as Brunson stood towering beside him on stage.
“And, yes, I will return your hat,” Brunson replied.
This wasn’t Brunson’s first appearance during Styles’ residency; the NBA champion had already attended two prior shows at the Garden, where Styles previously gave him a special shoutout on September 12.
“We may or may not have the King of New York in the house tonight, Mr Jalen Brunson,” Styles said during the performance. “He’s just trying to have a quiet night out. Not a chance. Not in this city. It’s like Mickey Mouse going to Disneyland.”
Brunson is set to return to the Madison Square Garden stage on Monday when the Knicks face the Brooklyn Nets.
