One Thousand Rabbits: The Foolish Boy

November 3, 2026

Most of the fresh music released today isn’t coming from the United States. It’s as if a monumental election isn’t looming over these artists on this particular Tuesday. Lucky them.

1000 Rabbits is a lot of rabbits, and it’s also the name of the buzzworthy London-based post-punk outfit that already grabbed our attention with the singles “Virgin Soil” and “Rubik’s Cube.” They’re young and they’re aligned with the label known as Young. For the record, their new track “Stupid Boy” has nothing to do with Garbage’s “Stupid Girl.” Instead, it’s a dense, quirky number that begins quietly and crescendos into a furious conclusion. The climaxes land especially hard when the violin enters. Here’s how the band describes it:

This summer, we’ve had a wild time in Europe and the UK playing at festivals and touring our EP. The song became a space to experiment with lots of facets of our performance — singing all together, getting into the crowd, dancing and shouting: things we’d never done before but that the song demanded. It’s cathartic, and sharing that feeling with an audience and seeing it resonate has been magical. It’s one of our wildest, angriest, most cathartic experiments so far, and we are proud of its volatile constitution — it could explode at any moment

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
