Purple Pilgrims – Moonward Gaze

November 4, 2026

Purple Pilgrims, the dream-pop duo formed by New Zealand sisters Clementine and Valentine Nixon, are unveiling their latest album Given To The Night toward the end of the month. Today, they carry forward the momentum from their promising initial singles “Innocence Lost” and “Outside” by sharing a fresh track titled “Look To The Moon.”

The Nixon sisters explain in a statement that “Look To The Moon” functions as “a mantra, a sisterly love song — a communion with the universe, an anthemic prayer.” On the song, their voices rise with the lines, “I looked to the moon/ The moon looked to me/ She said, ‘Just be free.’.” Listen to the softly luminous tune and view its music video, directed by Britt Walton, below.

Given To The Night arrives 11/27 on AD 93. Pre-order it here.

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
