GIFT, the New York-based psych-pop quintet fronted by TJ Freda and highlighted as a 2024 Band To Watch, are returning early next year with their forthcoming album Frenzy For The Thrill. Following the sharp-edged lead single “Hand To The Flame,” they pull back a touch with the glowingly airy space-rock float of new track “Every Step.” According to Freda:
Perspective guides everything we do. The world is full of issues that outrun the petty annoyances we allow to upset us. Yet when those small concerns loom just as large, guilt follows, and it’s easy to fault yourself for not feeling the way you think you should. Perspective shadow slides behind every step, whether you lean toward hope or toward heaviness. Beauty resides in the broken places, and something fractured lives in every beautiful thing.
