Olivia Rodrigo’s Take Me Home for Christmas

November 6, 2026

The holiday season this year shines a bit brighter for Olivia Rodrigo. The artist behind the acclaimed third album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, released in June, is unveiling her debut Christmas track. It has arrived, and it goes by the title take me home (4 christmas).

Produced by Dan Nigro, who co-wrote the song with Rodrigo and Amy Allen, “take me home (4 christmas)” marks another collaboration with Nigro. It follows last month’s playful “expectations” remix with Chappell Roan, which came with a music video (not AI-generated!) featuring David Byrne. The new track also comes with a video, and this one stars Sex And The City‘s Cynthia Nixon and SNL‘s Ben Marshall.

Earlier this year, Rodrigo told Jimmy Fallon that Sex And The City is her favorite show and it even helped shape the album: “Like, when Miranda and Steve are getting back together, she’s crying. ‘Steve, anytime something funny happens, I just want to tell you.’ And I remember watching that and being like, ‘Oh, my God, I have to write a song about this,'” she said, seemingly alluding to “maggots for brains,” which contains the line: “And everything that’s funny, I wish I could tell to him.”

I write about music as a cultural signal, following the artists, scenes, releases, and movements that shape how people listen today. My work focuses on discovery, context, and the stories behind the sounds that travel beyond borders.
