Megan Thee Stallion hails Moulin Rouge! Broadway run as one of her best experiences

Megan Thee Stallion opened up about how deeply meaningful her stint in Moulin Rouge! The Musical was to her.

The rapper behind Savage stepped onto Broadway in March, making her debut as the show’s host and as Zidler, the owner of the Moulin Rouge club.

Looking back on the run in a Marie Claire feature, Megan described the experience as one of the finest moments of her career as a performer.

She also admitted that she was anxious before the production began and didn’t anticipate how physically demanding eight performances a week would prove to be.

“I don’t think I realized how much my body would be put through,” she stated. “These people work incredibly hard, like anyone in theatre. They’re on the job all week except for Mondays. I could see they were tired. When I walked into that place, I was tired too. Yet they stayed happy and upbeat. I stopped complaining.”

Only a week into her scheduled run, Megan was rushed to the hospital during a performance.

“I didn’t want to let anyone down,” she explained, not yet realizing how depleted she was.

“I thought I was having a stroke. I wasn’t getting any oxygen to my brain, so my hands went numb. My face went numb. I was trying to tell everyone that I didn’t feel okay. They thought I was simply dehydrated.”

Despite the scare, the Hot Girl Summer artist returned to the stage just two days later and remained with the show for another month, eventually ending her run two weeks earlier than originally planned.
